Becoming Robot
Just completed my RG 1/144 Aile Strike Gundam, though tbh I’m kinda sad I don’t have another RG in my queue. Can’t wait for the Mk-II to become available in the states.
My custom 1/100 HG Gundam Astraea.

Thoughts:
1.) Given I don’t have an airbrush, the color selection on Rust-oleum Painters Touch was superb. Application was great. Drying time was great. I can’t believe I even messed with Testors before this. Never again.
2.) Rust-oleum Matte TopCoat sucks balls. Seriously, fuck that stuff. It turned an otherwise awesome spray painting experience into a shit terd romper roost at the very end. You can’t even imagine the epic face palms thrown after I saw this shit dry. The surface looks like faux-leather. I guess it’s acceptable from a distance, but you can really tell up close (especially in these pictures). I am committed to only using Mr. TopCoat Flat from now on.
3.) WaterSlide decals are the way to go. Where have you been all my life?!?! They are not nearly as scary as I thought they would be. Having built a couple RG’s and about to start Unicorn FA Ver.Ka, I realized that decaling the shit out of kits really makes them look more legit and less toy-like.
4.) Had to dry brush the inside of the knees. Looks okay and relatively matched the tan color, so I’m okay with it.
5.) Astraea kicks ass. Seriously, I love his head design above all other 00 kits. I’m so glad they decided to make a 1/100 version of this kit. With paint, lines, and decals, this bitch looks like a MG. Booyah.
